Customer Q&A for Coronavirus

As the situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) develops please see our below Q&A section which contains useful information which may apply to you. This section will be constantly updated throughout this time.

Bookings through The Cruise Specialists will be financially protected for bookings that must be cancelled as per foreign office directives which advise against all but essential travel.

This means that if you have a booking due to travel imminently to a country which the Foreign Office has advised against all but essential travel to, you will be entitled to a full refund or to re-book your holiday at later date. Our consultants will talk through all of your options with you.

If you are no longer able to travel due to issues regarding visas, then this will be a personal travel insurance claim. Please contact your travel insurance provider for further information.

If you are no longer able to travel because of a country you have visited recently, then this will be a personal travel insurance claim. Please contact your travel insurance provider for further information.

If you are no longer able to travel because you have been advised to self-isolate, then this will be a personal travel insurance claim. Please contact your travel insurance provider for further information.

If you choose not to travel to a country where the FCO advice remains unchanged, then normal booking terms and conditions will apply. The decision to travel is a really personal one and it is a decision that only you, as a customer, can make. Our consultants are more than happy to chat through your options and may be able to change your booking to a later date or different destination. Any changes will be subject to charges determined by the airline, cruise line or tour operator.

Before you embark on your holiday, you should always check the latest FCO advice for British nationals. Find the latest advice and updates here.

FCO advice relates to imminent travel. If you are due to travel imminently, you will be entitled to a refund. Length of restrictions may vary from destination to destination and as the situation is fluid, it is continually changing. For example, many tour operators and airlines will decide on an ongoing basis how far in advance they will be offering alternative arrangements or refunds for travel to affected. This is constantly being reviewed on an ongoing basis.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office advice is in relation to imminent departures and it is too early to say that the holiday can’t go ahead as planned. Therefore, customers with future departure dates will be required to wait to find out whether the advice changes and their holiday can continue as planned. If travellers choose to cancel early, they may have to pay cancellation charges.
