Western Europe

The coast of Western Europe, all the way to the Mediterranean is dotted with historic cities, glamorous resorts and idyllic islands. Cruise ships which sail northern waters during the summer months will reposition to the Mediterranean for autumn and winter, cruising along the coast, through the straits of Gibraltar and into the Med.

When to Visit?
Cruises to Western Europe head north in April and May and south in August and September. The weather is generally warmer as you travel south, though it does depend on season.

Western Europe

Along the coast are a host of ports in France and Spain. Starting at the north Hamburg, Bruges and Amsterdam provide cultural hotspots, then as you head further south ports of call include Le Havre, La Rochelle, Bilbao, Poroto, Lisbon & Cadiz before passing through the Straits of Gibraltar into the Mediterranean.

Western Mediterranean

Famed for its beaches, island resorts, rivieras and cosmopolitan cities, the Western Mediterranean is an ever popular destination. Along the Spanish coast Barcelona, Valencia and Malaga (for Grenada) have enticed generations of visitors, and further along the coast Majorca and the Balearics are among the most popular ports of call. From here head on to the French Riviera with Nice and Monte Carlo offering glitz and glamour, while Livorno (for Florence) and Civitavecchia (for Rome) offer culture and the best of Italian cuisine.
