Hurtigruten has been a feature of the Norwegian coast since 1893, and today operate an all-year schedule with daily departures from Bergen heading up the coast to Kirkenes, calling at 34 ports. In summer months you get the chance to see the Midnight Sun, and in winter the Northern Lights are proudly on display.
Each ship is slightly different, but across the Hurtigruten fleet, there are the same standards of accommodation, which whilst high can be seen as basic on some older vessels. All ships have Norwegian inspired décor and boast restaurants serving fresh, healthy food, all included in your fare. On deck there are Jacuzzi's which are ideal for hardy travellers to watch the world go by from; for those seeking more comfort, there are panoramic lounges, a bar & café.

The exploration ships of Hurtigruten venture far afield, from Iceland, Greenland and Spitsbergen to exploring the Americas and Antarctica. The newest Hurtigruten hybrid ships are named for renowned Norwegian polar pioneers, MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen and have state-of-the-art hull designs.
These new ships boast large observation platforms, ideal for uninterrupted views of nature and wildlife whilst a majority of cabins come complete with their own balcony. On deck, you will find infinity pools, Jacuzzi baths and bars while in the main restaurants you can find food inspired by your destinations.

All expedition ships have all been fully refurbished with inspiration from some of the wonderful destinations they explore. Alaska, Galapagos Islands, The Caribbean, Iceland and South America are some of the many places Hurtigruten visit.
Breakfast is served buffet style, lunch offers the famous cold table with a choice of fish, cold meats, salads and a selection of hot dishes and dinner is served as a three-course set meal all locally sourced and cooked by master chefs.
A no dress code on board allowing guests to simply relax and enjoy the professional service in which Hurtigruten have to offer making them feel like they're at home.
Facilities onboard consist of a fitness centre, a library, swimming pools, a shop selling souvenirs, knitwear, books all for guests to explore whilst at sea.
All expedition cruises include extras such as complimentary beer and wines at meals, free Wi-Fi and an activity in each port of call. Tea and coffee making facilities can be found in most cabins, this can also be purchased on board.
