Having grown at a phenomenal rate since its first cruise back in 1972, Carnival Cruise Line lays claim to the accolade of the World’s Most Popular Cruise Line – it’s certainly the world’s largest cruise line. Their fleet of 26 ships offer 3- to 24-day cruises to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Cuba, Panama Canal, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, the Far East, Bermuda, Canada and New England. However their mainstay is three- to seven-night cruises from convenient American ports, including Miami, Port Canaveral, Ft Lauderdale, Jacksonville and Tampa in Florida; as well as Galveston, Long Beach, and several other regional gateways.

In the early days the company dubbed their fleet ‘The Fun Ships’ and this holds true today. Each vast vessel is a floating resort perfectly designed for fun in the sun for all ages. There’s WaterWorks for those who like to get wet n’ wild, SportSquare for the athletically-inclined, the adrenalin-rush of SkyRide, or the drama of an IMAX movie. If the nonstop partying goes into overload or the all day DJ on deck starts to grate, the Serenity Lounge is an adults-only bolthole with plush deck furniture. The superb Camp Carnival child and teen clubs keep junior cruisers happy all day long.

On Half Moon Cay – Carnival’s private island in the Bahamas – the sand is pristine and the sea is warm. Needless to say the range of watersports is endless but there are also cabanas and bars with thatched roofs. While some ships in their armada have a reputation for flashy neon, Carnival ships continue to evolve and now boast a more toned down palette. The new Carnival Panorama and transformed Carnival Sunrise set sail in 2019.

Carnival cruises offer upbeat fun cruising with lots of activities, fast food and glitzy entertainment providing a good value cruise package.
